Message from our CEO - Director
Dear Stakeholders, and Partners,
Since early last year, the world has seen wave after wave of the COVID-19 virus. First and foremost, I extend my sincerest sympathies to all those who have contracted the virus.
2020 was an extraordinary year by any measure. It was a year of a global pandemic, a global recession, unprecedented government actions, turbulent elections, and deeply felt social and racial injustice. It was a year in which each of us faced difficult personal challenges, and a staggering number of us lost loved ones. It was also a year when those among us with less were disproportionately hurt by joblessness and poverty. And it was a time when companies discovered what they really were and, sometimes, what they might become.
The pandemic has not only delivered a devastating blow to society and the world economy, but it has also completely changed our way of life and put pressure on industries around the world to adopt major structural reforms. Meanwhile, with the global business environment continuing to evolve at a dizzying pace, the industries in which MG Power Group of Companies is engaged are growing increasingly complex. It is more important than ever for our company to assess how all of this change may have impact our potential for growth as we constantly review our supply chains and distribution models, and continue to maximize our competitiveness.
Under the MG POWER GROUP Corporate Strategy, we adapted to global change by expanding our international trade and finance and strengthening our portfolio. In energy and power generation, we are pursuing power generation projects in the Asia-Pacific region via the structured project funding and development, and more particularly in oil, gas, and other oil derivatives with the participation of our affiliate and group of companies based in the United Kingdon,The Isle of Man, and the U.S.A. and with its Asia-Pacific Region offices in Manila, The Philippines, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, and Singapore which has enabled us to pursue a business model that combines renewables-based generation and sales. We have also been active in smart-city developments and other downstream sectors involving the creation of customer bases. We have also taken steps to strengthen our international operations, as evidenced by our oil and gas trade and development that aligns us closely with the trend towards electrification.
Another of our objectives under the Midterm Corporate Strategy 2021 is in the agri-business, and we have been doing so by accelerating initiatives in this area. Leveraging our company's diverse industry know-how, we are now working on ways to further our oil and gas trade and structural reforms throughout the China Mainland, Asia-Pacific, European countries and the United States of America. Together with our partners and affiliates, we are also taking advantage of widespread customer bases, collaboration in the oil and gas trade and development technologies, and other assets to develop a wide array of unique services Like our oil and gas trade, global efforts towards shift for industry, one that MG Power Group is determined to be a part and many innovations will occur and we anticipate widespread adoption and adaptation. During the transition period, MG POWER GROUP will endeavor to fulfill We will continue to pursue solutions by leveraging our unique breadth, depth and expertise across industries. True to MG Power's guiding philosophy, the Three Corporate Principles, we will strive to meet the expectations of our myriad stakeholders and partners by continuing our business management model in order to simultaneously generate socio-economic, cultural, trade and industry and development infrastructure.
We look forward to your continued support in reaching this goal and thanking you in advance for chosing our MG Power Group of Companies as "Your Partner in Progress."
